What Is the Web Content API

The Web Content API is deprecated. Use the News, Blogs & Forums APIs instead - same content, one endpoint per content type, and where new features land.

The Web Content API (filterWebContent) lets you search and stream Webz.io's open web coverage as structured JSON.

It covers three content types:

  • News - articles from news sites.
  • Blogs - blog posts.
  • Discussions - posts and replies from online forums.

Every result (a "post") is enriched with metadata such as the author, publication date, language, sentiment, topics and categories, named entities (people, organizations, locations), social engagement counts, and details about the source site and thread.

You query the API with a single boolean query and read back paginated JSON. The same query language and response shape are used across all three content types.

The Web Content API covers the open web. Dark web and data breaches are served by separate Webz.io APIs.
