# Quickstart

Four steps from zero to your first News API results. All you need is an API token.

## 1. Get your token

Find your API `token` in your Webz.io dashboard. Every request needs it, and your account must be enabled for the News API.

## 2. Run a query

`GET`

```bash
https://api.webz.io/api/news?token=YOUR_TOKEN&q="artificial intelligence" language:english
```

In real requests, URL-encode the `q` value.

## 3. Read the response

The JSON response contains a `posts` array plus paging fields:

```json
{
  "posts": [ ... ],
  "next": "/api/news?q=...&ts=1751713632000&ni=6bd4f2...",
  "total_results": 12453,
  "more_results_available": 12353,
  "requests_left": 989
}
```

## 4. Get the next page

Append the `next` value to `https://api.webz.io` and call it again. Repeat until `more_results_available` reaches `0`. See [Pagination](news-blogs-forums-pagination).

That's it - you are up and running. Next, sharpen your query with [Query Syntax](news-blogs-forums-query-syntax) and [Filters](news-api-filters).

> [!TIP]
> By default you search the last 3 days. To go further back set `ts`; going beyond 31 days also needs `allowNewsHistory=true` - see [Time Range & History](news-blogs-forums-time-range). Older data - up to the last **5 years** - is available via the [News, Blogs, Forums & Reviews Archive](archive-what-is).
